For me the newly released (MS version) HD4000 (Windows Update 'pushed driver') causes periodic AudioDlg.exe crashes. As soon as I reinstall the official Intel version (from the Intel website) the crash problem ceases. FWIW, I think this may be due to an incompatibility with the OEM Beats Audio (IDT Audio) extensions installed by HP on their older Envy series notebooks (such as the DV-7000 series which I have). Unfortunately within a few days Windows Update sees the rolled-back driver set and soon after jams in their broken driver again...and as soon as that happens it's crash, bang again... BTW, the symptom of a crashed AudioDlg.exe module is 'No System Audio, either In or Out.
Golly - Does anyone (at MS) actually test this stuff before they shove it out their damn push-pipe?
Also, on an aside FWIW - The newly pushed Synaptics SMBus Touchpad driver (be pushed out by MS) kills several OEM version customization functionalities, such as Cyril scrolling actions and support for touchpad deactivation...
Such poor QC leaves one to wonder what OEM hardware the MS programming trolls will hose-down next...
